Id suggest that you could do it yourself quite easily. Theyre seldom fitted with any enthusiasm or real application, so you should be able to get to it after a brief 'James Herriot' moment.....

I really had to search to get a 'hand up a cow' picture! None of 'James Herriot' and virtually every other hit was a person using a cow window with their hands through a round plastic hole in the cows side; rooting about in its stomach (which was pretty horrible, although the cows werent fussed)!

You can call Tracker UK and cancel your subscription but the tracker unit will still be live but it can be left like that until you want it active again.
Pm me if you like but why don't you want the tracker active they do work well if fitted correctly.

I don't sell them but I can fit them so i don't know if it is a scam but what i do know is that you can buy a one year, three year or lifetime subscription for a one off payment.
There are different levels of cover between the trackers in the range.
They do work but there are ways around them, when a stolen car that was fitted with a tracker installed by me is recovered my boss got a well done letter to say they had recovered it with the help of the tracker fitted by me, I ended up with four of those letters in one year but I don't know if any did get stolen successfully.
If you look around there are insurance companies that give discounts for cars fitted with trackers.
Up to you what you want in your car.

not all trackers have a battery back up, the original navtrack didnot have a battery back up. the later unit did same for tracker the best one i have used is trackstar or i-mob tt4 these are what i fit tqi approved this standard came out in 2006. the original standards were for gps gprs and cel phone communication link not including battery back up.

Audioscape is right
The old tracking systems didn't have battery back up.
All new Thatcham TQA (replaced cat Q) systems that have passed in 2008 all have battery back up as this is needed to pass the new TQA criteria .
Regarding the trackstar product, trackstar do have a system that can shut down after an hour instead of the 6-7 hour shut down, this may help the battery issue (or it may not!!!)

can you confirm it is a trackstar if so it will have battery back up just checked all my paperwork back to 2000 even the sample unit i fitted had back up. so if u are paying your subscription do not disconnect it unless you tell them first.
have you put a mulitmeter between the battery and the battery terminal to see how much it is drawing? if so how many amps
