Give Max at Maximum Impact a call, as he fitted mine at approx £200 (this was discounted due to Scoobynet site recommendation). Very happy with system and if I was prepared to come up from London to get it done I think that speaks volumes about his reputation. Contact number: 01132441448

tezza - I looked in the 'was it you' afterwards, but nothing was there. As I've got Blue written on the rear windows I thought the same as you - when am I gonna get spotted ! I was in a bit of a rush, but always willing to talk scoobies!! You certainly picked a pretty bad day to drive up to gods own county
Black-jax is great once you're used to it - but be prepared for a couple of embarassing moments until its second nature as one day it'll stop on you (bleeping and flashing!)'cos you forgat to set it..

Cheers

Especially if you have the stereo turned up - then you can't hear the warning beeps and so embarrasment is only seconds away......

Enhances the feeling of security no end.

Makes Valet Parking and letting the wife borrow the car an impossibility though

Cool

a) The only time she drove it was the test drive! (it scared her!!)
b) A few of the hotels we go to do valet parking. Have thought about letting them take it a couple of times, just for the laugh...

Only problem is the embarrasment of forgetting to put the code in (and you WILL do it!).

Its worth it if you like the piece of mind for the time when the scumbags with baseball bats suggest you let them have your keys.

Also, your missus will refuse to drive it, though whether that's classed as a 'problem' or a 'worth having' is down to the state of your relationship (and her driving)

Does this have to be fitted with a clifford system or is it a stand alone item?

Also, will my insurance company give me a discount?!!

The Clifford Concept 400 and above (the 500 and 600 are Cat. 1's) include BlackJax in their spec, but BlackJax can also be purchased as a standalone system completely separate from any other security the vehicle may or may not have already. Unfortunately the stand alone system has no insurance recognition as there are currently no Thatcham categories for antihijacking/delayed immobilisation devices. Pretty silly really seeing as how the usual way to steal any car these days is to simply use the keys for it. It's unfortunately something I see pretty much every week.

Device has up to 4 pin code via two button pad. In basic terms a code has to be entered every time a door is opened, otherwise car will cut out after a preset time. So if car-jacked etc it allows the c**t to escape leaving you behind (assumed you are dragged out), then car stops.
