Blackjax is clearly a good idea, but the way it works (the button thingy) is a pain. Are their any alternative systems that use a key card, that just has to be carried by the driver (i.e. in the car) to keep the engine running?

Thanks, that was exactly the sort of thing I was looking for. Do you have one? And if so, is it any good? Can you recommend a fitter?

Cheers, Ming.

Isn't there a new version of Blackjax that uses a credit card thingie instead of code? Thought I'd seen it mentioned on here recently.

I,ve fitted plenty of the Spal hi-jack systems their great and dead easy to use all you need to do is keep the card on your person .
But if you and the card are remove it will shut down the engine and bring the car to a stop ,it could,nt be easyer!
Just do,nt forget the card when you nip down the shops as you will be walking back
And if you need to lend the car to some one or have it serviced just leave the card in the glove box.

Doc .

Ok, so let's say some toe-rag breaks into my house and nicks my keys, but doesn't get the card. Despite the 6D Mag-Lite embedded in his forhead, he gets into my car to make his getaway. Will it start?

Seriously, I don't really want the car NOT to start under these circumstances, because all that then happens is I get my face re-arranged and have to hand over the card. What I want to happen is that the tosser gets a mile or so up the road, and the car dies on him.

Three minutes sounds like an excessively long delay. Longer that you average traffic light cycle, which seems a little pointless.

If you are refering to my post then I did say three seconds. But from what you said about starting etc then it will do what you want, it just might be a long night walking around looking for the car.
