help! Doc Clifford
#1
Doc I had a Clifford concept 500 installed on my Focus earlier this week and since then I’ve had a problem, it will sound the alarm about 30-35 minutes after arming. When I disarm and turn on the ignition the led flashes 5 times saying that the boot is ajar but it isn't. I have had a look for the boot light switch or other contact but I can't find anything that would say that the boot is open. I’ve not been able to leave the car armed, as my neighbours would kill me.
Is there anything you can do to help!
Thanks in advance
Dave

OK Doc,
Spent some time at work last night seeing how bad this problem is and it's worst than I thought!!!!!! I let the siren run through it's 30 sec cycle thinking that it would stop and continue to monitor the open switch but no it carried on ringing until I switched it off. I then reset the alarm and left it for a few minutes I then popped the bonnet with the key and to my supprize the alarm did not trigger. This whole install is turning out to be a F*&^%$G joke. The company do have a VSIB certificate but I really think they didn't have a clue what they were doing as they actually damaged the wheel arch body work trying to mount the siren. Do you know anyone at Clifford and/or the VSIB to complain to?

Having a VSIB certificate isn't worth anything unless it has been correctly embossed by the installer. Many people are able to lay their hands on certificates even though they aren't accredited. On the reverse of your certificate should be a complaints procedure, but you can always check www.vsib.co.uk for the VSIB's phone number so you can enquire with them about this firm.

Cheers Max
The certificate is embossed and since then i have called the VSIB and the complaint is in the post (well almost i need them to fix the damage to the body work first before i **** them off)

I don't think the name of the fitters has been posted here! Please correct me if I'm wrong but both Doc Clifford and Max are helping out - the alarm hasn't been fitted by either of them.
Cowboy installers should be, IMHO, wiped out: a good alarm fitted badly is almost worse than no alarm at all as it gives you a false sense of security...

The doc and max are deffinately not to blame they are trying to help me out. The problem fitters were Hendon car Stereo. One of their fitters hasn't a clue but they do use one guy called Howard who is Excellent. He only does work for them as opposed to working for them.
