Once it's seen the first brake press, you've then only got 20 seconds before being curtly reminded for the PIN, stationary or not

You don't seem to be the only one who doesn't want them anywhere near their car. Are you sure your BlackJax system is enabled if it is part of an alarm? (C4/5/600 or AG4). Ring Clifford UK (part of Directed Electronics) on 0800 929949 if you're still having problems, explaining you're unhappy with GAP, and they'll be able to direct you to another local dealer if you wish.

He needs to read about the alarm? It sounds to me like he isn't familiar with Clifford product and doesn't really know what he's doing. When DEI/Clifford told you to get back in touch with the original installer they were just following procedure, but if after repeated contact with the installer the problem still hasn't been resolved then they may (and I repeat: may) intervene for you.

When I say intervene, I mean that if after repeated attempts on your part to have Gap sort the problems and have your system installed/working to your satisfaction, you may be able to get Clifford/DEI to lean on Gap to make more of an effort or arbitrate in some way. If all else fails, the VSIB (even though Gap are no longer accredited) will be able to advise you on a course of action as they have much experience with disgruntled customers and Trading Standards.

Hope you get it all sorted eventually!

right, he came out today to check it and after taking my whole blooming dash out again he said sumthink about the rpm thingy not connected the lastime he came or sumthink, then he got out the clifford wizard to see anythink wrong with it, after another hour he sorted it and it works just how it should now, but after that expericnce i will never call that fooking gap number, members bewarn go to sumone who actually know about these alarms,
thanx max again for keeping intrest in this thread, just proves how into alarms you are,
meaning you are the expert, i would highly recommend you to anyone who needs an alarm fitted, i just still regretted i didnt go to you in the first place

Ah well, we all live and learn. There are cowboy operators in all areas of life, not just the vehicle security industry. At least it's been patched up now and is doing what it's supposed to do.
