Was PMSL when got told about this tonight!

I have the only Scooby Type R in my area, and a Type RA showed up wee while ago. Obviously I was curious, as u do.
Anyway, said car had just been purchased and was standard apart from 2 gauges. Had a wee chat and compared cars.
Next time I see the car is 2 weeks later and he's basically tried to copy my fooking car! Had a decat fitted, induction kit, uprated fuel pump, etc....ah, but he couldnt get the GEMS local (ha ha ha). Oh and he was complaining aboot car not running right since ind kit fitted and why did he have a turbo lag

Car and driver never 1/4-ed, track dayed, or r.roaded...and then this appears.......

IMHO, looking at the mods he'd be looking at maybe 300bhp tops with a loss of torque due to the de-cat.

It is a nice looking Scooby. I think you should take your Type-R out against him and "**** right down his leg" in front of everyone!! lol

Seems to be the norm up here - anyone see that program on BBC one ages ago about Crail, kinda demonstrated the local mentality up here..

From claims from wee kids saying u have taken them out in your car at 160 "honest man it was dead fast like"...

To induction kitted 2l vectras being able to destroy scoobs, its all just laughable.

What we need is a rolling road up here and a shoot out day separate the tat from the good - but no rolling roads up here

For example out in my mates WR1 last night and some little Sh*t in a little astra decides to pull across his front at a junction just because its a scoob..

Anyway why dont you challenge him to Crail and video it Little Miss STI happy to video the event heh...

Besides the fact that the RA box aint going to pull that speed !

Just to clear matters up on this subject.

First of all. It is my old car

It will now be the power he quotes as it was 310 when I had her.

The reason he thinks its doing 180mph is because the speed convertor that was fitted was faulty and therefore reads 180 when its actually doing about 120mph.

The torque is due to the mega low gearing(obviously being an RA)

And no, you dont want to race him as it can keep up with R6's and the likes when I had her. Unles its raining that is. This is not a wet weather car for the faint hearted. I have never, ever owned or been in a 4WD car that can light up the tyres in all five gears in the wet....apart from this Bitch!!

The last part to this story is the sad bit. I just heard that the car has now sufferd from an engine bay fire due to oil being put onto the hot manifold after a rod was thrown and cracked the block.

Bloody waste of a good car.
I dont know the new owner and have never met him, just heard about the accident through the guy who sold it.

So... dont slag the car as I can vouch for its qualitys. Wish I never sold it for my Buggy. It will never be the car the Ra was.

P.s she is an STI5 NOT an STI6 as it says on the Tech Spec.

Just a wee not for any one who wants to try and improve their STI 5 RA. Dont fookin try cause you wont manage it.
Induction kits and all that ****e aint needed. If STI could have made it a lot better then they would have. No Mickey mouse garage, no matter how big or small can compare from a massive company like Subaru technica international.
If the can then they need to write to Subaru Japan and tell them their story.
If its possible to do development in a greasy garage then what do STI need to spend millions of pounds on it for????

Rant over....just get peeved at dreamers who think induction kits and magic trees make their cars into WRC machines and them into Colin McRae.

The fuel pump aint up to much on a std STI RA Thats the only thing STI never thought of us brits taking the limiter off then booting the hole off it and maybe not making a front mount i/c as standard or not equipping all STI RA with the quick steering rack
Apart from that they are my dream car HHHMMM white 95 STI RA with DCCD roof vent water spray 4.4 diffs

Long 1 Right into caution 9 Left over Jump AAAAHHHHHH

Being having a horrible week so thanks for cheering me up guys. Cheers.

I was having a sh#t day yest. I'd been in bed since Sat very ill, and only just crawled back to semi-life yest. 1st day out of bed but was still feeling really yucky, and to top it all off it was my birthday! That'll be remembered as a wild birthday - not!
Then my brother shows me that on the internet - made me insane!

HI SOOB, i wasnt just bitchin cos it was someone elses scooby. When i first met the guy, HE told me it was completely standard. Thats why i was rotfl at him getting 70BHP out of a de-cat and induction kit - and of course the 180MPH part!
I was so incensed last night i sent him a text message (he gave me his mobile no which i have NEVER called). Along the lines off "thanx for a good laugh. ha ha ha. in yer dreams m8. ha ha ha. " and something about kicking his ***! (Hey, I'm blaming it on the fever i had!!!)
Got a text back saying blah blah eat my dust!
I had calmed down by then so left it at that.........
But then i got another text at 4.05am saying that he'd blown the engine on sat and ordered a new one!!!!

Dont deny its a tasty car (altho i luv my car to bits, so of course i'm going to lurve mine more ), but hey, cars cant pick their owners!!!

And the fact that he told me the reason he actually bought that particular car was because he went into the garage and asked for the fastest car they had - which was that one - as he'd put the skyline into a field, and it was being repaired , should say everything.

Did check this site out a while ago when i saw address on loads of cars running about town. Its good 4 a giggle.

Did u check out the "This is where it goes of" bit, everytime we're about there aint much going of anywhere just a few corsas lapping the town centre haha.

I know where 2 get Gems locally 2, same place as u go. Don't worry won't say if u want 2 keep that 1 2 yourself.
