I take it the unit you are talking about has the Black face, with red open button on the top??

Does it still open up to the silver side, even though the unit is pin-locked??

Cause if not then I hope you have a remote for it as I think its a combination of buttons on that that you have to unlock it with...

Do you have a reciept for the H/Unit that you got when you bought the car mate??

Its your mates old car isnt it... Ask him if he knows where the unit was bought from, then go to that place and explain what happened and that you dont have the un-lock code.

I dont think that its a universal code, it'll be unique to the unit, maybe someone like halfrauds might be able to give you a hand with it??

Or Chris @ VR Bodystyling in Perth, think he is based out of the new city centre shop though.

Not a great deal of help mate, soz!!

Cheers,
Grant

Mk3 wont be anywhere near as fun as your Mk2 mate!!

You think that 140miles on a tenner is bad....... OMG, I dream of MPG like that!!

Grant

Hmmm, well thats not quite as good then!!

Still, you think that a MK3 will be any different mate, its a bigger engine and a heavier car... Ask Mike16v what sort of mileage he got out of his!

Soz, Mike is the only guy in this section that I can remember who had a MK3 16v GTi, and a very nice one at that!

Cheers,
Grant
