Default Scottish Scoob 1/4 Times...

Ok, well I got my brakes fitted mid/late afternoon on Saturday, hence why I missed the Edinburgh meet!!

So after bedding them in as best I could, I decided to take the Scoob up to Crail on Sunday to see what it could do....

Car - Silver MY99 UK Turbo
Engine Mods - Full Decat Exhaust, Induction Kit, Forge VTA
Suspension Mods - "Prodrive Handling Pack"
Wheels - 17" OZ P1 Anthracites

Best Time - 13.7secs @ 101mph
Best Reaction Time - 0.194

What I was wondering was.. Is this good for my car & mods??

Did anyone else get any times yesterday??

What are people's best 1/4's and what car & spec were you running??

Managed to beat the fastest FWD car in Scotland at the end of last season, Blue Nova with NOS on slicks, beat him by the bonnet scoop forward!!

Cheers,
Grant

We've managed a 12.09 with an ET of 120.3mph

Car was definitely NOT standard

Thats a great time - my MY99 with full decat, tek 2.5, and sti 5 intercooler managed 13.401 @ 104mph The only thing I will say is that was on a very hot day so I'd expect it to have been quicker on a colder day like it is this time of year You've still got a very good time there IMHO

Grant,

I was there yesterday - bit windy :-)
I would also say you've got good times there - we're you along in the car?
I did a 13.692 sec @ 102.5 mph, RT 0.761 sec, 60ft 2.084 sec
But I had three passengers, so I could have gone quicker
I've also got (nearly) illegal front tyres - so my time to 60ft was long - i've got 1.9 sec before.
In terms of mods, my car is very similar to SB's (minus the IC):- DBM MY99 with full decat, tek 2.5

Well done matey,
Kenny

Had a passenger for one of my 13.7sec runs... The other was alone, but with a slower R/T...

I beat the dark red 380bhp Skyline GTS twice (once due to him missing 3rd a couple of times, and the other he was closing the gap quite quickly by the end of the strip 100mph+)

With me getting these times, does that mean that I might have a different ECU as I seem to be only just off TEK 2.5 re-mapped cars??

What sort of times would be expected with an average 0.4sec reaction time for a car with my mods??

Thanks for the info guys… More pleased than I was before now I have been able to compare them with a few other Scoob times!!

Cheers,
Grant

Large increments in power produce small decrements in ET I am afraid.

I had a race with the dark red Skyline also and beat him also. I did not realise he had that much BHP - I'm well impressed with the Scooby :-) And he only had one passenger.

Anyone guess how many tenths of a second I could take off my time if I had 18 stone (120kgs) less weight?

Yeah guy's name is Boab and he was having trouble with his starts, but on his second run against me, he got his best reaction time of the say 0.287 or there about, but missed 3rd gear 2 or 3 times and took it easy up the rest of the 1/4 cause he thought he had fooked his gearbox!!

He hadnt broken anything, it had just been a poor change as he was trying to rush it.. later found out that he had knocked up his boost to 1.1bar the the second run cause he didn’t want to be beaten again!! lol

Only raced one Scoob, my mates P1.. Which I beat, then he beat me.. Both good races, IMO it was evenly matched as well which I was surprised with!!! Thinking about it now, should have had a decider!!

Cheers,
Grant
