Edinburgh snow chaos tonight
Anyone been driving tonight? I was going down the mound and the AX in front of me slow-ploughed off towards the Bank and bounced on the kerb, fortunately the oncoming bus (sideways) was wheelspinning on the spot and not actually moving. This is all at 5 mph.
I think there's a case for winter tyres in this country.

I went to play some five aside before it started snowing and took the pug. When I got out it was a white out and I was kicking myself that I didn't have the scooby with me

I could hardly touch the throttle with 4wd, and all sorts of electronic trickery provided by the huns. Still 225 P Zero Rossos are not a snow tire. Don't winter tyres work much better in low temps, i.e. they warm up quicker. so would be of use for a few months.

Standard tyres in the snow are crap full stop, 4WD gives you a slight edge maybe on uphills but the rest forget it.
Get yourself a set of winter tyres and then it's a completely different ball game .
The winter tyres I have can be used all year round and are a very good road tyre as well, perfect for the winter season. Don't forget these are not only good in snow but have a compound in them to help with traction on ice.
It only takes a few hours of snow for your pride and joy to be dented in a accident, how much does that cost in repair/insurance??
Now that I've fitted them this year I wouldn't leave home without them!
