Gavin Wallace of Wallace Performance is the new Scottish dealer for ECUTEK.

He knows his stuff (he has a Masters in Mathmatics and knows complex maths like the back of his hand) and so far has done an excellent job of tuning some of the local cars up here!

Tell him Russell sent you, he'll see you right!

I only originally intended to do 5 cars to cover costs so I could get my hands on the software, but it just carried on, but I got too busy with doctoring to continue mapping.

Spent some time with Gavin at his new place in Aberdeen when I was home last trip. Also spent an afternoon driving for him as he carried out a re-map of a MY00 car. Took a wee while to get it set up and it is worth mentioning he had excellent support from Ecutek on the phone throughout the afternoon. They are obviously very much involved in what he is doing and double check the programme prior to it being up loaded in the car; obviously to protect their integrity as he has just started. The car was a different machine after 3 hrs and felt much quicker.

Jools was the my00 modified or does the remap make a big difference to a standard car?

FC,
Car was a UK standard apart from back end of exhaust and knocklink, best I know...and it made a difference all right. Felt more like a Sti type R, just wanted to pull and pull all the way to the red line.

Spooks, my 2 cents worth - I recently got a TEK II remap at Wallace Performance for my MY99 UK turbo w fully decat exhaust - and I'm well happy with end results :-) Gavin is a good guy

Two tests I've done to check the before & after performance are:-

1. I was at Crail on sunday and bettered my personal best terminal speed - while carrying 18 stone (120kgs) extra weight (and front baldy tyres)

2. I was out in my personal race track, and have increased my terminal speed, for the same stretch of track, from 138mph to nearer 148mph

So I'm happy - reckon she must be around 260bhp now.
The only slight -ve is that I think the turbo is a little more laggy than what I had before, i.e. a dawes @ 1.1 bar - but she makes up for it mid and high end :-)

Adding a Knocklink is a must

Cheers
Kenny
