john banks discovered this on my computer too

I had got a few "failed deliveries" with addresses years out of date , did a virus check and none found, thought braw until I got a few calls from non scoobynet people , asking why I was sending them scoobynet stuff and other strange subject mails .they had not opened any so I told them to delete them all but I am buggered if I know how it got into my computer. the only thing added lately was some "imagemixer" program by one of my auld mans friends , do not know it this had a problem in it , but however it got in , my version missed it.

anyway called the doc out and he got rid of it. cheers jb.

You need to update your virus killer pattern files at least weekly. Easier to do with broadband on a schedule, dial up often wants to schedule when you are not dialled up or the computer is off.

Funny you say that John, I've also had similar e-mail's.
At first I thought it was spam, but they are only addressed to me and then I started recognising some of the e-mail addresses.

Must be getting at least 20 infected e-mails per day just now, but it only started a week ago.
Last one I got from from my Lawer in Dundee, the message was "Why?" lmfoa
Hope he doesnt sue

Cool

Peebs I can assure you that my puter is now 100% clear
Hence why been offline for a long time (couple of days)
Top tip is to use McAffee "stinger" its a standalone and was the only one that picked up the traces on my machine. You can get it at their website
and the price is right FREE

L8r peebs

Pete

BTW i just mailed a buncha folk who i`ve received virus files from.
