Thinkin about a track day ( shhhh dont tell the missus ), anyone know if Knockhill do introduction courses in that they take ya out in yer own car and show/tell/demonstrate what your supposed to do? What costs are we talking also?
Yes I know I could prolly do this at SIDC track events but would prefer that I get some instruction before I have a crowd around me lol.
Also anyone know where you can get Race gear, Sparco racewear etc?

Hi Spooks - I've used Demon Tweeks in the past meself and found the service pretty good. Usually carry stock so you can get a lotta stuff next day.
See www.demon-tweeks.co.uk
Sounds like you've got some fun planned for 2004!

mate come to the top marques nights at knockhill. check out the website at www.knockhill.co.uk. i've had a fair bit of teaching on track driving, come up to the marques nights and i'll save you a bit of cash. I am not confessing to be a BTTC driver, but i'll teach you the fastest and safest way round knockhill.

Grandprix racewear also do some good gear.

On the knockhill front - yes you can take your own car out and have a driving instructor sit with you. I bought a voucher for sexy-blue last year, but ended up using it myself as she hurt her knee the day before and couldn't drive !!
He drives for a few laps, pointing out turn in points, braking points etc, and then you get a pile of laps with him sitting next to you advising. It was pretty useful, even though I'd been out a few times before. Can't remember how much it was, but if you look on their website it'll be listed under their bronze or silver package IIRC.

Spooks, I knew all that trackday talk would get to ya' U should jump in the car with me and Chris for next weekend, travel down Friday, home Sat nite. Lots of passenger laps and possibly a go in the litchfield 25 jobbie.
Trackwear mate, give it a miss unless you INTEND to get dirty or use the Nomex to beat the flames out , although your own helmet (Ooer missus!) is a good idea, especially if your unlucky to get a hire one after a greasy nit infested 'person' has had it on.
Seriously, if you can wangle it for next week, you are more than welcome to jump in with us.
