Just wanted to know if anyone has used falken tyres on their scooby and if so how were they? i've just ordered a set as i'm skint and can get them for £50 each. I've got them on my focus and they're ok in the dry but a little slippy at times in the wet. Am i better to spend a few more bucks or are the falkens ok or does anyone know where i can get better tyres for about the same price locally.

Depends on what ones u r gettin m8.
I`ve tried a few different tyres on the scoob over the years and have always ended up goin back to Falkens. IMHO best all rounder their is I`m currently running FK451 GRB8 and wouldn`t run her on anything else. Cost quite a bit more than £50 a corner though.

BTW £50 is mega cheap, what patern / size did u say u were gettin 4 at that cost?

I've got FK451s on mine and they're not bad, but can't really compare them as they were on the car when I got them so never driven the Scooby on anything else. They're due for replacement soon so not sure what to go for next (tempted to try eagle F1s).

Well i would have to agree with you spooks, lots of understeer in the wet now, but on the plus side i can get it sideways a lot easier now. i will need to wait for some decent weather to see how they are in the dry.

Cool

LOL spooks
if I try and power through corners
u mean like this?

Johnny how wet r we talkin about ?

Have u scrubbed them in yet ??? If not pull a few Dnuts that`ll get the skin off em

As said b4 IMHO falken FK451 r the dogs hairy bits as an all rounder Perhaps the suspensions the prob? Have u fitted uprated swaybar links? Or maybe the tyres just don`t suit u guys particular setups

Yes they are scrubbed in, it was in the rain last night (not too wet) but they are the same on my focus and my m8's old scooby. They are ze 512's so different from yours. My m8 said he got 20k out of them and £200 fitted and balanced for four was a good price so i can't complain.

Pete you prolly know the spec of my car better than me LOL
Uprated link bars on front and rear, but will be putting solid bars on the rear soon (if I can), will check to see if its the same tyres as you or Johnny, I still suspect its the rubber thats the cause.

Spooks dunno what u could possibly mean m8
you prolly know the spec of my car better than me
I know I baited Paul about it a few times and I think he did do it but off the top of my head I honestly cant remember Thats the auld age settin in now

But YEAH peebs, have a look under u r mota n it`ll scare the crap outta u when u find it`s a couple of flimsy bits of plastic that they`re callin swaybar links Spend a few quid on the whiteline gear and it`ll totally transform the handling (none of this 2 stage damping nonsence) it`s either on the road or not
Did mine years ago an like Robin says "nice"

Tyres are the same as Johnny R6 has and slippery at the front in wet.
