I am off to the Nurburgring in September and am going to take the Superfast ferry from Rosyth to Zeebrugge rather than drive all the way South and go across the Channel there. Has anyone used this before and got any views on it?

Try and get there early to park at the front of the ferry - I was late last year and had every man and his dog squeezing in between my car and a big **** off coach. My car was 3 days old and had a fair few scrathces from people's luggage etc

Oh and leave early .......I got a puncture ( I was going Newcastle to Ijmuiden)@ Lockerbie and had to limp to Carlisle on the space saver until i got a new tyre. Luckily I left 2 hours early so wasn't too late for the ferry.

I would also suggest you take a disposable camera for any unfortunate incidents that you may have (i.e crashes) as they are invaluable evidence for insyrance purposes......

Have fun !

Calum

Cheers Calum, did you have a cabin or one of the 'aircraft style seats'? Seats are cheaper but then I saw a pic and thought I don't think I or my girlfriend could tolerate them for over 12 hours.

Also, are you allowed back down to the car once the ship is underway?

Hurricane, i used the rosyth route last year when heading to France cave diving. I found it a very good crossing, boat is brand new and rooms are very good for a ferry. Only fault is that it was a bit expensive around the £400 mark for the car plus 2 passengers. Would not recommend not getting a room as it is a long crossing 17hrs I think. You cannot get back to the car when the boat sails though. I am going back to france latter this year and I am going to travel south and get a cheaper deal. Hope this helps.

Hi

My parents use it a lot and thinks its great - bit expensive but saves a lot of driving.

They tend to get a cabin - and normally get a reasonable deal - can try and find out where they book if that helps ?

As far as I know you have to book with Viamare in london as they are or were the sole booking agent for superfast. Sorry for the multiple posts dont know why they happened. Check out the superfast website.

That has to be the most badly named company ever. I was going to use that ferry until I saw the journey times, so instead I'm driving down using the channel tunnel and driving back up the other side.
