The SIDC have been invited to put on a display stand at the RS Owners Club annual show at the Old Mill Inn on the South Deeside Road, a few miles out from Aberdeen.

There is an entry fee of £3.00 per person, and display cars must be on site by 10am at the latest, or they will be forced to park in the overspill car park.

As usual, a trophy will be presented to the "best" car on our stand, which will be judged by the organisers.

Due to space restrictions, we are limited to 12 cars in our area, and accordingly I'd like people to contact me directly on john@sidc.co.uk if they wish to come along, so I can reserve a space.

As usual, there will be a wide range of car clubs there, with numerous trade stands, food vans etc. It's been a very successful event for the past 4 - 5 years that we have been attending.

Best Regards

John

John,

Forgetting about the gripes of a few individuals last year, SIDC might be better received if the cars on display and the stand were a bit more interesting.

It looks like it could be a row af half a dozen STi7's and a couple more.

Do you think it would be possible to get a few more of the specials ? (like; a MacRae, a Catalunya, a Terzo and an RB5). Also, the Brian Downie 22b (I presume it isn't sold) and any other two door imported exotica that anyone knows of.

It might also be good if there was some sort of SIDC banner to remind people that this is actually an invited club rather than a bunch of interlopers.

I acknowledge that I'm suggesting a fair amount of work / organisation for someone and not volunteering myself. I'll hence not be offended if this is ignored or if it's declared bollocks.

I'll probably tip up at some point if it's a nice day but my car won't be in the ring - unless you're short of a blue STi7 Prodrive ... which looks unlikely

Numptie,

banner - we have a new one, but still awaiting the frame to be completed. Unlikely to be ready for Sunday....

I'd love to get a collection of Special edition, other cars on the display. If anyone knows of any suitable cars, then please get in touch with me

There's a MacRae in Banchory with a for sale sign in the window. If I see it tonight, I'll take note of the telephone number and give the guy a call.

Although he maybe isn't into going to meetings, I'm sure he'll see it as a good advertising opportunity.

He'll also likely be trying to keep it clean and shiny since he's trying to sell it.

Don't know any Terzo's or RB5's - but what about Ricco ?

I drive an RS Turbo and I would be more than happy to have a look around a Scooby or two...

I wasnt there last year but sounds like it was people who were just looking to moan about something, and the fact that you guys were there was an easy target.

I know that there are still going to be people who mumble and grumble about Scooby's being @ an RS Show but to the people who have a genuine interest in cars you will be made more than welcome, and they will love to have a look over your cars and chat to you about them!!

If you see me @ the Show or on the way to/from it then give me a wave...

Cheers,
Grant

John,

What about asking T&C if they'd supply a car ? - like the Scottish one.

Drivers required; Need to get the Sti7, Pauls P1 and KP's Sti 5 over the road so we have some variety on show. (Other wise it will be a line of 7 Sti 7’s) BKS is going to see about a Terzo for the day and then there is his 7 as well. Any word on getting a Sti8 there?

Unfortunately we won’t have the 22B there this year...so far at least.

Be great if T&C would stick the white car out for the day. What do you say Raymond? Give me a call if you can help and want some free advertising for the day.

There was a 22b at Knockhill on Tuesday night for Hot Marques.

Was sitting in the car park.

Anybody know who it was ?
Surely they'd chuck it on display ?

Right.

for eveyone coming onto the stand tomorrow, aim to be at the Old Mill Inn for 9:45am. Ken and Jools are sorting out a display order for the cars, so we'll leave it to them to put everyone in their place

See you all there tomorrow.
