Aviemore interest
#1
After my last post on gatso's on the way to Aviemore, i raised a little interest in a days winter sporting without realising, does anybody fancy a days skiing/boarding/blading as soon as the snow fills in, most likely on a friday/saturday/sunday, more people means cheaper fuel costs for journey up and down, last time it cost me 40 squid up and down, thats a tenner each for a car of four.
let us know, especially the glasgow crowd who have little organised events. heres a good chance for a smashin day oot.

I'd have to dust off my snowboard but I'd maybe be up for that. Not sure I'd be landing front-flips and 720's these days though! In fact, not sure I could even navigate the slopes no more Snowboarding isn't like riding a bike unfortunatly....you do forget

Similar balance required but you don't have a dirty great big sail to hold onto. Learning to ski twists your knees...learning to snowboard bruises your *** and breaks your bones I've done both and would have to say I much prefer snowboarding. This is because I was into the freestyle element but if I was into cruising the slopes as quickly as possible I'd probably stick to skiing. Snow sports rule....just one problem....lack of

Heaven help me, I agree with Kenny
Snowboarding is much more fun. Been skiing since I was 6 and have kinda gotten fed up of it.
AJ...boarding's nowt like windsurfing (apart from the standing up element), so you might want to stuff a cushion down yer breeks for extra padding...assuming you ain't a size 22

Or if we go for Glenshee there's The Spittal or Blackwater Inn.
The Spittal has decent, reasonably priced accommodation only 10mins from the slopes and they serve lovely, homecooked grub

seems like a good show of interest, latest ski report says only two resorts are open, aviemore and the lecht, aviemore being the nearest from the south would be a better option, i will be heading up this sunday with the board if anybody fancies a "ski sunday" let us know and we can sort out a meeting place/time, if this is to short notice then i will be heading up the next weekend as well, possibly for a weekend binge as suggested above.
Iain (Skynet), unfortunatly my car is chock full this sunday, let me know if you fancy the next weekend.
cheers

No Probs Chris - Glad my e-mail to you last night got the snowball rolling. Fridays and Sundays are probably the best for me to arrange cover with my ex for Skye. Snowblades just serviced after a lot of damage due to some pretty ****e snow cover at the Lecht last outing. Done skiing, snowboarding now found out the best fun on the slopes. Enjoy Sunday's outing.

Definately interested (x2). Not up for this "gays on trays" stuff though - I'll be sticking to skiing !! Snowboarding's a bit too easy !!
It'll need to be in a few weeks time though as we're in New Zealand at the moment
