a while back i bought 2 bluetooth code readers
i lost mine and my mates one dosent seem to be working on my car anymore so im in the market for a new one
back on my astra we had a thing called an OPCOM which could read codes as well as change all the settings like airbags, activating cruse control, programing keys
is there something like this for the impreza? what readers do you all have?

I've had mine connected and left in my car for over a year. Never had any issues with battery drain (except for once leaving my lights on!).
I got the short adapter so that it fits flush and doesn't get in the way, but is tricky to remove quickly.

my adapter used to set my alarm off on my astra dude to battery drain
Something not right there then as the voltage sensing should only alarm on additional drains once the alarm is set,
If it is set with it plugged in it wouldn't or shouldn't see any voltage change once the car is switched off and the alarm set.

Supposedly there are some that don't drain the battery. Not sure if they have an on/off switch or something? Haven't tried leaving mine in for fear of being stranded but might try over the weekend and measure the battery drain.
You're right about the flush fit ones. I have a multitool in my car and have to use the bottle opener blade to remove it.
