Default Hi all. Newbie here. Just a few things

Hi all, Iv just purchased an impreza wrx-s, the hatchback version.
I was just going to ask if there is anything I need to know/check/worry about anything or abuthing to look out for regarding faults or problems.
It has 27k miles. I haven't picked it up yet or test driven it as its some miles away.

Also it's prob been discussed millions of times but would I get away with normal unleaded or just used SUL? Do you actually get more miles out of SUL?
The car is completely standard apart from the prodrive pack.

Many thanks for your time and I'll appreciate any info at all.

Welcome aboard Damo, always used SUL in a car that's been mapped and as far as I know there is some mapping involved with the PPP pack. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Andy

Right so can't just use any super unleaded? Nearest to me is a jet garage that does SUL. But tesco is other side of town. Cheers

There isn't one in barnsley anymore. It closed down a while ago do it would mean a 10mile trip at least to Rotherham or Wakefield. Tesco is about 3 mile away. There's loads of jet garages offering the SUL. Asda doesn't do it round me. There's a morrisons about a mile away. Do they do a decent SUL? If not its jet or a long journey to fill up. Thanks guys.

I personally use Shell but I would consider Tesco over Jet anytime unless desperate. Andy

Hi, If you have just bought it from Marshalls in Scunthorpe then its my old car (Blue WRX-S reg OY10 ***). If you drop me a pm with you mobile i can go through the car with you. I ran it on Tesco 99 ONLY and changed the oil every 3000 miles on top of the main dealer service (the last one done in March by the dealer was the big 40k service as well) so it's been well looked after!! I would have kept it but needed something more economical. Enjoy and please look after it. and don't worry about the test drive...it pulls like a train in all gears!

Remember that not all super unleaded is the same. Some are 97 Ron, some are 98 and some 99.
You want the best fuel you can get. Jet certainly isn't the best so stick with either tesco momentum or shell nitro.

As above: Tesco and Shell are 99 RON, usual SUL is 97 RON and normal UL is 95 RON.

I'd do the journey to Tesco...who are also known for NOT having it in stock
