Turbo 2000 is a UK spec WRX.
Type R / RA is a JDM Spec and more sought after car.

That's because you can make them 400bhp on the stock intercooler and turbo.

Paint it green, add a "Monza" bodykit and a VTA dump valve if you're after that kind of poke.

The only quicker car you can get is the newage WRX but only if fitted with the PPP.

The Turbo 2000 was the official top of the range UK Impreza up to the bugeye arriving in 2001.

While not as fast as an STI it is still a good car with a few choice mods and they are cheap as chips.

They are what 99% of people bought, until the bugeye, because until then, the STi variants were ONLY available as a grey import, and dealers were encouraged to refuse service, parts etc etc.
