Imo dont get them powder coated as they wheels become brittle and crack.
There was even a thread on here not that long ago about someones wheels failing after coating.
The heating process to bake the paint basically weakens the wheels a lot.
Circa 180 degrees in the oven

Nice job there by mags. Did you ship your rims to him & if so how much did it cost approx? I'm trying to figure out the costs of having my P1 rims refurbed by Mags or somewhere more local in Manchester. The shipping costs are putting me off tho.

Have heard problems with power coating wheels too. The very high powder bake temperature can cause already existing weaknesses in the structure of the metal to get worse. Have seen many pics of wheels failing on cars and spokes snapping after powder coating.
Just be careful.

Tbh mate it was a very good price, I had bought them off eBay and paid the shipping so had them sent to mags straight away. He did the job and posted them me back at a cost some people pay for just the wheels to be refurbed. Id drop him a pm if I was you hes well worth shipping to and the job is spot on.

I'm getting my alloys refurbished next week and had planned to get them powder coated. Now after doing a bit of research, it doesn't sound like a good idea for alloys.
Anyone had experience of powder coated alloys?

A lot of the failures have been with track cars who have had powder coated wheels from what I have seen. If I remember correctly even Duncan had one on his time atack car???? You may be fine with a road car, but i've also been trying to decide if I should get mine powder coated for years now and not bitten the bullet with it just in case.
