Unhappy Soon to be a 1 scoob family :(

Due to the fact I have far too many scoobs (2), and far too many cars for that matter (4), I have come to the conclusion that I will just keep the Spec C and that will give me chance to concentrate on keeping her in a good condition

Of course I've got to get rid of 2 cars (if any one wants a 306 S16 as a project, give me a shout as she is too good to scrap ) but as per usual when 2 go out, 1 has to come in unfortunately its not a Subaru (and no, all im saying is that its a Peugeot).

Its been a hard decision to sell my type r as ive spend a fortune recently on her and im still contemplating whether I should stay in Subaru ownership at all, getting parts is a joke now and the brand in the UK is dying, plus its bad when some scum come stealing parts off your scoob because they cannot afford to get their own or go to a breakers not that the part was expensive to start with (240 quid for a front bumper, the grille cost was higher than I expected as they broke that removing the bumper), so for the time being and now being disillusioned with Subaru UK and the joke of its dealerships/parts (IM in general), i'm just going to be a 1 Subaru family and hopefully wont be fed up too much waiting months for parts again (like a lock set, 3 months.....)

Oh the joys of ownership

The current going rate is erm..... £13K Tony, so you can get a nice pug for that.

Seriously though, look at it this way:
You've done your bit and preserved a piece of motoring nostalgia (history to a lot of people), you've enjoyed owning and driving it, and that's now going to pass to someone else.

That's far better than me, for example.
Most of my cars have ended their lives with me (and no, not in accidents ).
Better to see someone drive it away with a smile on their face than watch it on the back of a lorry on its way to the breaker's.

Sorry about the theft. There's some complete ar$eholes about.

Sorry to hear of your woes Tony. I'm at a similar crossroad myself. My Subaru is as much a garden ornament as a mode of transport these days.

Those that sell their Type R's tend to regret it

Valid point Micky. Thing is I'm still spending money on it even though I'm not driving it much. Mind you it still puts a smile on my face. 👍

Bad news that some scum bags where stealing from your car!!!

Had the same problem with my classic 10 years ago, Because it was a MY00 shape classic, the front end of my car would go missing every couple of months, I got a bit disillusioned with the whole Subaru scene, and tried something else (Audi) soon got bored and thought why am I giving something up that I enjoy because some mindless tramps cant afford there own parts. Ended up buying another Scoob and 7 Subaru's later Im still happy!!
