Default Scumball

I am arranging a stag do, the plan is to purchase 3 cars sub £500 and drive to Nürburgring ring and do a lap, question is what cars & is it possible to buy a wrecked but mechanically sound classic for that sort of money? we plan to paint the cars so bodywork issue no problem, obviously an sti is worth more in bits but what about a uk 2000?

My shortlist thus far, feel fee to add?

Volvo V70 T5

Mr2 mk2 is a good little car, think the classic would be very ropy as you said it's worth More in parts, cheapest I have seen they I would feel safe driving (make it there) in the road would be a £1000 with rusty arches

Saab 9000 2.0 / 2.3 turbo.

The 2.3 maps to 250hp on standard "everything", and despite the size they actually do not weigh that much (about 1350kg), and also *very* comfortable seats on a run, which you'll be happy about on the way to the ring

As a previous Scumball winner......get a big car! do not go for a little nimble car as basically its a touring rally on real roads! (unless things have changed in the last few years) If I was doing it again, pretty sure I would opt for a 400LS Lexus. Loads of room for ya gear, comfy, large fuel tank, cheap as chips now and can sit at 125mph for several hours in a row easily!
