Mine have thumbscrews, so just turn them the required number of clicks (obviously make sure they're all at the same setting).

There'll be one on top of each shock.
Take a look under the bonnet and you'll see them on top of each leg.

For the rear ones I believe there's an extention kit so that you can adjust them from inside the car via thumbscrews either side of the rear seatbacks.

If the car doesn't have them you have to access them by taking the wheels off etc.

I'm no mechanic but I'm sure this will bring forth advice from someone who is

The height adjustment is on the body of the coilover itself. If you take the wheel of you should be able to see the adjustment collar. Although if the coilovers are quite old they may be seized.

A bit of heat will help. Failing that you may have to do what Banny did.

If you ring AST ask to speak to Curtis. Whilst their communication isn't the best I will say the customer service for me was excellent. Curtis sent me two front springs foc when one of mine broke. I had already replaced the front two three years ago when I had the same issue. Even though three years had lapsed Curtis agreed they should have lasted longer. Furthermore he sent the two springs and asked I sent the other two back. Can't fault that.
