Default Collided with a deer

I hit a deer yesterday and damaged the front of the car. Anyone know a good body shop in south Oxfordshire?

Thanks Jura, Ryan's rep is well established but unfortunately the car's missing a headlight and is rather bent so is not really suitable for a long drive.

Ok thanks Jura, I will drop him a pm. Of course the poor deer got the worst of the impact, at least the car's fixable.

It is in the day.

Also, consider booking it in for an MoT, you know what I mean

Thanks for the suggestion but Ryan couldn't fix the problem in a day and I don't much fancy a 90 mile taxi home! Anyone know of any good Oxfordshire based people?

Only thing in your area that I know of is a Breakers: South East Imprezas 07891129485, talk with Pete, he may have contacts.

+1 for Ryan 'Prodrverules'. He looked after my RB & did a cracking job cleaning up the stone-chipped front end

Thanks for the responses guys.

I've also got to find a bug sti o/s headlight, mine's smashed beyond repair. I've phoned around but no luck so far, and the new option is a last resort. If anyone has one just sitting in their garage ........

That's very useful to know for the future - thanks.

The car will be having a service at Litcho's soon so I might pop in along the way.

Not good. Hope you get it fixed. On a slightly differant note, I may be wrong, but I'm sure you have to tell someone if you hit a deer. I mean the likes of the local council, RSPCA etc. you won't get fined for telling them but I'm sure you can get into trouble if you don't report it and you were spotted.

As I said, I may be wrong but it might be worth looking into.

Don't worry, the deer was my first concern. After the impact I parked up and eventually found the deer 200 yards away from the road in a field, almost unbelievable as both its back legs were broken. I had no means with me to send it on its way, so I contacted TV police, the RSPCA and my local vet, then sat with it. Eventually an RSPCA vet came out and ended its suffering. Pretty miserable day all round really.

I feel really guilty now. Hit a deer a couple of months ago and the last I saw of it was this. Weird cos I'm an animal lover, but was gutted as my car was pretty smashed up and I knew that I'd take a massive hit on the bank balance...

Donnie B 46 that's an amazing picture and you obviously hit a large deer. Mine was only a roe doe, so relatively small, but the impact was enough to cause lots of expensive damage. But I guess you ought to have sorted your deer out once you'd let off enough steam!

That Road looks very familiar to me - Is it the B656 heading towards Hitchin?

Yes you bloody are - this is what a badger did to mine.

Mind you, he kind of vapourised...although not before leaving his lunch and some of his hair stuck in the front wheel

What a mess. That's quite an impact there mate, a badger is a big lump. Pretty expensive to sort out if mine's anything to go by.

Gristly gnarly buggers - it was like hitting a concrete bollard.

Circa 3k from memory as he also bent the front of the alloy bonnet to buggery
