Default Oh Deer..............

Sooooo was driving through Epping Forest this morning when a deer ran out in front of me. Managed to brake intime not to hit it, but unfortunatly another 2 were behind the first one.

Crikey you dont realise how big these things are until theres only a pane of glass between it and you. Anyway i guess he's tried to jump the car. One of his feet hit the wing mirror

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e1...9/IMGP3896.jpg

I thought he was going to put the window out but luckily it stayed intact. Then it went up and over my car

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e1...9/IMGP3898.jpg

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e1...9/IMGP3899.jpg

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e1...9/IMGP3900.jpg

Nice bit of hair it left behind....

http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e1...9/IMGP3901.jpg

It then ran of back into the trees. I drove to Epping police station to report it but they wasn't interested as it wasn't dead.

So managed to drive home at about 20mph. Any faster i think the spoiler would fall off. Just waiting for the insurance to ring me back.......

Might be worth getting repaired yourself tho. New Spolier etc.

I use a guy in Barleylands and has done a few cars for me including a front end spray on the Tuscan. Was a top job for little money. Jason 01268 272777 if you wanna call for a chat.

Ouch - that doesn't look too good!

Came close to that being me yesterday - fortunately I saw the first one in time to stop & waited as I was sure there would be more behind - and there were another 9 following! Fantastic sight when they aren't landing on your car.

I sat tight though there was still some tw@t who thought about going around me

That is scary, I have had a couple of them run out near me on that same bit of road.

Also a big thums up for Jason, had my bug sprayed by him and his work is top notch

I dont think it will be that bad a repair the worst of the dent is in the middle and that will pop back out, there is a slight crease tho.

Has Looie contacted you about the Fog covers and parking space yet

The dents appear to be in pretty accessible areas for pull/pushing

I'm thinking about it...............

Seriously though - I've had a few near ones over the years, they do get the adrenalin going when they occur! - I've got to the point where I look at the hedges now as well as the road when I'm driving down the roads in and around Epping Forest....

If you need any help mate - just ask....

Looks like It's going to take a bit of work. Glad you're ok and the Deer managed to run off. Although there could have been a tasty bit of tenderised venison to be had if it hadn't.

A414 can be a bit hairy for deer early in the morning, a friend wrote off his car due to a hedge runner. Tissy, even with all his powers of interception, was undone not so long ago by a deer.

Cheers Chris and Darc - the backside is hopefully just a replacement boot and spoiler. There is another dent which the big bit of mud is covering aswell i noticed just below the big dent. Got the assesor coming tomorrow morning to have a look. I reckon my cars worth around 6kl in the trade so i cant see the repair bill coming to more than that?
