Default Finally

After a long wait I have finally bit the bullet and got myself a Scooby. Its a WRX that is 99% standard (Carbon fibre Sti bonnet scoop and rear spoiler risers are the only changes).

The car has only covered 43k and is in mint condition. I collect her on Tuesday and I cant wait. Going to be sad to get rid of the Accord Type R but its time to move on.

I really wanted one with PPP but couldn't refuse this when I saw it and the fact that the car is only 2 miles away helped .

I have a question though.....

What would I have to do to get the car up to PPP standards? From what I've read it seems that a K&N panel filter, possible fuel pump and a remap should be enough. Is this the case or is there more to it?

This will pretty much be all I do to the car but the fact that I've had a shot of a WRX with PPP before has made me determined to get it to that level.

cheers Dave

As above, telling us what year the car is may help!

You won't need a panel filter but you will need a decent exhaust system with either a decat or sports cat downpipe.

Do you have any recommendations on an exhaust?

How much should I be looking to pay for a decent exhaust and what would the average price of a remap be?

Sorry for the newbie questions but I'll get there

So far I've got a japspeed sports cat and a japspeed cat back exhaust along with a hrc fuel pump and a panel filter fitted to my wrx

I'm getting a open source map from Duncan which is £350

Regarding exhausts it all depends what you want if you want a loud one or quite one that doesn't turn many heads but there is always exhausts floating about in the sale threads

Cheers for that Sam.

That is pretty much what Im looking to do. You must keep me updated and let me know how your remap goes.

One other thing I would be looking to change is the back spoiler. Although the one on it looks ok (standard one but with risers) I really like the Sti spoiler as its very similar to my Accord and I like the look of it.

So I will be looking to sell the spoiler on the car and get myself an Sti one. I also have a Carbon fibre Bonnet scoop that I might sell once the standard one is back on. Its the size of and Sti one.

I should be looking around 270bhp maybe a little more, I've gone for a sports cat as I wanted to keep it mot friendly

Rear spoilers also pop up alot on here alot just gotta keep an eye out

Carbon fibre bonnet scoop you say ? May be interested in that, got any pictures of it on te car ?

Aye you certainly seem to have done pretty much what Im looking to do.

I don't have any pics of the carbon scoop on car. The guy is sticking the original back on for me picking it up on Tuesday.

Another question (of many to come Im sure), this is the first car Ive owned with a Double din stereo. I take it that most new ones will fit in the space without any major alterations? I fancy a built in Sat Nav so looking at a Kenwood or similar.

Also if your putting more power in think about brakes can pick a front set up so calipers disc and pads for around £400-£450
