new scooby :) few questions?
pics will come up shortly
its a 2004 WRX
71k miles and compleatly mint
standard apart from the alarm and a prodrive backbox
just looked through the paperwork and its actually from malta!
dose that mean its a diffrent spec?
bought form here and imported brand new (never driven or registered in Malta)
also
is it canbus?
what BHP is this moddel? is it the 225 stated?
its fast! but it dose have turbo lag a fair bit
is this normal as its got more lag than my mums yaris diesel and mates audi a3 diesel both SMIC cars. (as you can see i have no petrol turbo experience)
thanks
josh

Should have a td04 fitted so shouldn't be laggy, it's a smaller turbo but boost should come in about 2-2.5k rpm, I would have thought it was the European spec,

It will feel laggy compared to 2 turbo diesels. They hit full boost way earlier than petrol turbo cars.
Having said that you should be pulling v strong by 3000rpm

Yeah it dose pull strongly. I gess its more because there's such a big difrence between on and off boost. It seems slow without and then when it. Kicks in omg it shifts. Its my 21st today so. As you can imagin this is. A. Quick car for me.

I bought my STI9 from motorpoint in Derby and that was imported from Malta. Back in 2005 they were selling them for £19,995 instead of the £26,000 from a UK dealer. Chandlers in Grantham said they couldn't buy them that cheap.

I'd check with your insurers before you change even the slightest thing from standard. Sorry to be a damp squib, but you may find they won't allow anything at your age I'm afraid.
I hope I'm wrong though.

my last blobeye was from cypress, exact same spec as UK, only difference i found was at MOT time, there are no 'official' figures for the emissions for the import, so full decat is fine
i fitted 225's, it's was lowered and never had a problem (just make sure the are a decent make, good tyres could save you, crap tyres might not)

Yeah I'm very weary off it. Handles well though. Seems pritty easy to drive
Getting rainsport 2 xl on there soon so I don't think grip will be that much off an issue
