Whats it worth?
Just signed up this morning as Im Thinking of advertising my Classic Impreza but struggling to price it. Going by parkers book price its worth peanuts but dont want to price it too high and scare folk away.
Its a Uk w reg impreza, dark blue with gold wheels, completely standard apart from a better sounding exhaust.
Only done 46 k miles and service history to back this up.
Paintwork in very good condition always washed polished when the weather allows!
No rust on arches
Taxed and Motd
Had a look on ebay etc but there either heavily modified or mega high mileage!
Any advise welcome

Keep it uk classics aren't making good money at the moment, sounds a nice car. You might get anywhere between £1.5-2k as it sounds a peach, I would hold on it.

as above, keep for a while if you can. even cars with decent mods running 300 bhp or so are struggling to make 2 grand these days, and ive seen loads of them! to get decent money it would have to be someone who wanted to collect a standard good condition car or someone wanting an unmodified car for a good base to start modifiying from. even then it seems pointless with the cars you can buy already modded for peanuts these days. to buy a standard low miles car in good condition like yours say 1.5-2k, a load of mods and engine work and suspension upgrades etc prob upwards of 2-2.5 k. 4k could net you a bugeye sti on a good day or a nicely modded bug running good power. i saw one on gumtree running close to 400bhp for 3.5 k. just be realistic considering the market these days or keep it and enjoy it.

The trouble is there's plenty of high mileage cars with rusty arches for £1500 and some people think they all should be that cheap.
If it's only got 46k and original rust free it's worth more than that.
I appreciate the mileage/condition and I'm sure there are other buyers that will. You have a pretty rare car with that mileage.
I'd be more than happy to pay £3500 for a rust free car of that mileage. To me a 46k rust free car is a much better buy at £3500 than £1500 for a 100k rusty car. For one you repair the rusty one properly and it'll stand you in more money than the rust free one, it'll never be the same and you're left with a high mileage car that's cost you more than buying a minter in the first place. People just see £1500 and forget they'll end up spending as much again.
I've heard it all before. I have a 2001 classic which has original paint and no rust on the rear arches (kept clean) and when it was for sale you just get endless people telling you they can get xyz for £1500.. Knock yourself out. There are some more mature purchasers that have their head screwed on.

If it helps, I bought my MY00 UK turbo with PPP for £2695 in June of last year - it was utterly stock and had just 49000 miles on the odo.
Your best bet is to hold onto it, you will struggle to get anywhere near what you might like for it.

Thanks for the advise. If it doesnt go for over £2k then Im probably better off keeping it and enjoying it. The amount of crap imprezas advertised I thought it might be worth a bit more considering mileage condition etc! In no rush to sell it though.

Then, you can spend those 80k miles fiddling around with it and making it exactly how you want it to be. Better to make it an ongoing, reliable evolution of the car than get a couple of thousand quid at best and let someone else have a sturdy foundation to build a rocket / sleeper / lively machine out of it.
Just saying...

I'm in a similar position With my classic
Had is since new for 13 years and has now crept up to 63k miles on it
Rust is starting on the rear archs Unfortunely despite garaged and polished constantly so need that done which will cost over a grand as I might as well get the bonnet and front resprayed and a couple of parking dents removed so that bill is nearly as much as the car
A new clutch and cam belt and a big service and it costs more to keep the car then it's worth but I'm going to keep it as its just a second /third car for me
There is old rusty classics as little as £500 on evil bay now and many classics are worth more in parts then complete
Its a great shame that the op has such a low mileage classic and is worth so little
If possible as others have suggested
Try to keep it if you can and enjoy driving a low mileage classic That will be apreciated by many enthusuists

That has to be a bargain for someone which makes an intersting other point to this thread
Going to Be even worse in 8/10 years time when the hawks with high rfl come down to the £1000 Price point for sale with £480 rfl
And of course the worry of chocolate pistons
Looking forward to looking back at this thread in ten years time
And the OPs classic could be worth thousands if its bubble wrapped

Yup, certain models hold their value better, the UK turbo isnt one of them so you can pick up a good bargain (as you can see a few have )
22B holds its value the best, P1/Type R the next best (classic wise)
