Default Anyone been to Hurst Cars, Bedford?

As above, has anyone been to or bought a car from Hurst Cars? I'm looking around for my next Scoobie and they seem to have alot to choose from.

My mate has just brought a type r from them, looks real pretty in the photos, but up close its not as tidy as I first seemed, and for the money it was, it should of been a lot tidier, few bits set the alarm bells ringing too.

I've been keeping my eye on a P1 they had but it's gone now, waiting to sell my car to get funds and that one looked pretty good.

Couldn't of been that bad if he bought it though hey
Photo's always make a car look better, that is why viewing in person is essential.

Ive bought from Max many times, genuine guy through and through.

But surely thats what being a 'dealer' is all about, buy a car, spend a couple of quid on it and sell it for a decent profit with a warranty attached to it.
Even car dealers need to make a living.

Bought two so far and been very pleased. Can't really think of anything bad to say about Max, he has always been very honest with me in regard to what I'm buying. Andy

It's a shame people have to state the devastatingly obvious!
As above no business exists to make a loss and like others I have never heard a bad word about Hurst.

I've only heard good things and the cars look like good stock

Before I decided to import direct from Japan I did a little nosey round to see if I could find any negative reviews on Hurst as they had a Type R I wanted to view Someone local to me used hurst and the car seems well so

Is Max the owner, as I've seen Hurst post as Adam on here and the company website is registered to Mahmood Khan ?

Max is Mahmood, its his nickname.

The 'Adam' account he posts on was his cousins that he took over rather than starting a newone I believe.

A few grand...... you've never been in the car trade have you. The 'few grand profits' don't come very often i can assure you. And they never come when the majority of your stock is sub 10K.
If dealers could make a few grand on every car then why aint we all at it ?
The car trade is tough, and its getting harder year by year.

I have just bought my car off max and have to say he seems like a genuine nice guy, I can imagine its hard to find totally mint stock and I have to say I explained that I was very fussy and he told me just how it was over the phone in respect of condition, I don't think you will go far wrong buying a car from him ok maybe the prices aren't like if you were buying private but thats his living and I don't believe that they are too over priced

No you're right, I haven't been in the car trade. However, I have sold a car to him and know what he sold it for.

So what's your point mate? Why didnt you sold it to him for a couple grand more , its no ones business what he buys and sells them for. This is how money is being made. OP asked feedback and so far so good . Bought from Max before and he's a decent bloke as other mentioned...

My point is there is a profit to be made in cars. Matty said there wasn't and I proved him wrong by backing up my claim with proof.

Had 2 cars and a 6 speed set up from maks, very genuine easy to deal with guy.
Had my ra for 3 years, one of the best cars ive owned, he took it back as a trade in, i now own a mint type20 from him, one of the cleanest blobs ive ever seen.
Of course some wont be mint condition, most are getting on a bit and high performance cars, some folk expect them to be like new, but the cars i looked over when i was down were in great condition.
He obviously has to add something to them, its a business he is running.

Thanks for the feedback fellas. I really want a P1 but must admit a couple of the type r's he's got look tempting like the black and white one he's got atm, but I've had an import before and the extra insurance just cause it's an import is rediculous!

Come again, you said dealers can make a few grand profit on their stock. By the phrase 'few grand' I see that as 3 or 4 thousand pounds which my friend is utter crap, very very rarely will a dealer make a few grand on a car. And as I said, when the stock you deal in is under 10K you will never make a few grand profit unless you really have a stroke of luck.
Very rarely can a dealer buy a car and stick it straight on the forecourt. Most need a service, maybe a few dings doing, a tyre or two, mot, valet and then they offer 3 months minimum warranty. Its very easy for a dealer to be quite a few hundred quid deep before its even for sale. You are obviously out of touch with the trade and making comments based on the fact you sold your car too cheap or it needing money spending on it.

Where did i say dealers don't make money ??
If they didn't make money then they wouldn't be in business. I understand the car trade very well, my father was a dealer for nearly 40 years, I myself have been involved with the car trade and because of this I have many friends in the trade. All of which are struggling at the minute. Theres no easy money in the car trade at the minute.

How you 'proved me wrong' I don't know.

Lol at this sort of thing.

The newest Classic you can find will be almost 14yrs old HELLO it's a ******* 14+ year old car, unless it's never been driven and kept in an oxygen bubble there is no way it's going to look anything vaguely resembling "mint"

Just because the bloke made a few more quid on one car does not mean he can do it on every car, if a person sells a car for too little or buys one for too much then that's down to their bartering skills and i'd suggest a holiday in Egypt or Turkey to see how it's done.

Everyone has to put food on the table would you buy a car off a bloke that was bare foot and butt naked.

What a ******* ridiculous comment to make. Well, you could have rented out premises, paid all the overheads (staff, electric etc..) sat on the car for months and sold it with a warranty. Maybe you would have got what you wanted for the car. Some people are seriously thick on this site.
