I think £450 is a good price for that if it comes with the car

In all serious though, I dont like plates that decribe a Marque, as it tailors to the car, and not the owner, thus pointless unless you plan on keeping a Subaru for many years/decades.

Rob

ps mine is RS DAY bought with a Series 1 RS Turbo lol, but its ideally for me

Thanks for the input and opinions guys. Rob kind of hit the nail on the head really as that's pretty much what I was thinking. Have to keep searching for a decent 'name plate' instead.

I've already said £350 Matty, wasn't having any of it.

Thanks again

I have a private plate which came with the car and ends wrx, I wouldn't of brought it as I agree with rob , it just denotes that specific model of vehicle, but its nice to have on my current motor. I would put the cash towards a plate with your initials etc.

My view is that plates that reflect the marque add 'saleability' because they aren't personal, so aren't buyer-specific.

My private plate reflects the car and me, so I'm bu&&ered unless I find a buyer with my exact initials.

Btw T20 xxx for "my" Type 20 cost just £250 from DVLA.
'T20 SUB' - which would suit any buyer - wasn't available.

Hopefully Fred Algernon Bloggs will be the purchaser of my car, and T20 FAB will be available.

PS - I'd buy an RS Turbo carrying R5 DAY only if I was interested in making a statement that "this is the day of the RS".
Not being funny, but you see how fluid this issue is.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a private plate, bought for what ever purpose you like, as at the end of be day it's your cash, your choice, your car, your life! I WAS simply answering the Scoobyblues question.

I've had all sorts of private plates in my time, but all came with the cars I've bought, not bought separately because the plates "belonged" to the car and encourage sales or increased value. R5 FTO was another I had on a limited version GPvR FTO Aero, needless to say I got a premium for this car when I sold it.

The RS DAY although was bought on an RS, is ideal for me as a person as well as the car, that's all I was saying

Theres a lad in town who owns a bright yellow renault clio sport thingy, fast little thing too. His plate is CL10 FTW which I thought was pretty cool.

Theres another guy here with a modified SL55 AMG with the plate L30SER.

Slightly off topic I know, but I remember Steve Parrish getting in trouble for amending the spacing of the plate PEN 1S.

I once lived in the same town as him. Every time I saw his Merc I couldn't help grinning.

A private plate should be personal to you, hence you keep it for life
Anything "scooby" related should be sold with the car and should be cheap enough that it only adds that value to the car.
A my94 standard car with the plate S60 OBY is worth what?

That's not possible, is it?

A 1994 car can only have a private plate older than a 1994, which would be around an "N" reg, so putting an "S" reg (1998) on the car wouldn't be allowed by Dvla rules.
