Aircon
Hi,
The Aircon is shafted on my Blob WRX, I took it for a regass, but they couldn't fill it as it had a leak.
Obviously I have no idea where said leak is, does anyone know any good companies that will perform leak detection? I've been having a look and haven't really found any.
Or if anyone local (Hampshire) has the kit to do it let me know
Cheers,
Scott

Not sure if this would be helpful but my whole aircon system from my blob wrx is coming out next week as I'm rotating inlet manifold.
It blows ice cold and works perfect.
Pm me if its of interest, I don't want much for it,I'm just in Berkshire too.

Kwik fit, was on their out of season £25 deal. Thought if it regasses then its £25 and cool, if not I know its got a leak and haven't paid anything.
So just need to find the leak

Any garage that carries out A/C re-gas will be able to inject dye into the system and with the the use of UV light locate the leak, there is a small issue with the F-Gas regulations that you should not top up any refrigeration system that has known leak.
The other method is to inject the dye into the system and carry our pressure test with OFN (oxygen free nitrogen) and use the UV lamp to locate if you don't here the leak!
Note: this should be carried out by trained personnel only as it is a pressurised system.

Mine is going in Thursday, had a leak from where the hard pipe goes in near the refill point. Most causes are a O-Ring perusing over the winter months when air con not used as much, then summer comes along the sudden use upsets the O-Ring causing a leak.
They said they will do a leak test with some dye, an hydrogen test, then fill it.
See how it goes later.
This is in Colchester Essex though.
