help uk 2000 or uk wrx bug??
i prefer the classic shape im tyring to weigh up the pros and cons ....the bug im looking at is a mica blue 2001 plate uk wrx 227bhp standard i hear but my uk 2000 turbo is on 177k and is prob around 218bhp with cat back and filter ,,,,,, i do think the classics look better but only if they are a RB or P1 ETC so decided to get a newage with low miles as surely my engine cant take to much more at 177k although it just went straight threw m.o.t with out even an advisory and has only 3 owners with full subaru service history?? my classic is also mica blue . TBH im getting bored of its power and dont want to tune it or remap it at that mileage would be to much starin on a car with that much mileage....so at the moment im iffing and butting the plus side on 2001 bug with 90k on clock is it will have loads of life left therefore be well up for a good remap. PLEASE HELP DECISION HAS TO BE MADE BY WEEKEND !!! i already have buyer for my 2000 turbo for £quid and the bug is up for £2350 so it would basically be my car and a grand for the bug ill put pics up of both cars thanks http://s1052.photobucket.com/user/ke...html84.jpg.tml

the bugs are a decent enough car for the money, emma got 270 bhp out of hers with just a remap and decat. was previously modded by a bellend but once sorted its been fine ever since.
drives lovely and on 100k now, doesn't burn oil and has no problems.
I suggest you drive one as they feel different to classics.
people will tell you they are slower which is crap they just aren't as raw to drive

Both cars look ok, but yes you'd be much better off with the bug if you want to remap.
A grand to swap, and maybe a grand for mods & a remap (if you look around at used parts) and you'd be sorted.

thanks wardle88 aint very good on a laptop lol ..............i have driven a sti on a rally day newage and my friends 2005 wrx like u said i felt the 2005 wrx was slower even than my 2000 turbo maybe it was just the smoothness of the newage looking at photos what would u do by uk 2000 is going to be bought by my father in law and garaged and do no more than 20 miles a week maybe a good retirement for a good servent ?????? surely the wrx is quicker than mine as mine is lowest grade scooby there is and the wrx would have better internals for tuning etc

Don't think the internals are different but clearly the mileage is?
Oh and newages are about 200kgs heavier than classics, so the newage without modding would probably be a tad slower.

sorry to keep on but my main concern is remapping and dectting the classic and spending££££££££££££££££££ than it blows up as on 178k could be a bottomles pit

Yes I didn't realise the bug already has exhaust/filter mods (on your other thread). I agree with the brembo comment - a grand for brembos and a remap would make a nice bug.

id like another classic but so hard to find without being molsted and i only like facelift models and i find the interior a nicer place to be inside the bug .............ohhhhhhhhhh this is hard !!!!!!!!!! it hurts me to say im bored of 218bhp but dont want to molest my nice classic id rather pass it to my father in law and let it have an easy retirement rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
