Where is the draining plug on the rear diff please? It's really obvious on the gearbox but not so much the diff? How can you fill it and drain it from the same place?

Stupid questions I know

Hang on a minute. I didn't know the WRX newage had an LSD fitted.

So just to confirm/add

I was gonna order Castrol syntrax 75/90 for the gear box an rear diff. 5 litres of it to be exact? But I'm presuming I need a different oil for the rear diff?

Look under the rear of the car and on the rear diff case there is two plugs, top one is the fill, bottom is the drain, take the car for a drive to warm up the oil the. Remove the bottom plug to assist the oil draining remove the top plug, once all the oil has drained refit the bottom plug and fill via the top plug until oil drips/runs out refit plug job done.
I used Millers CRX 75/90 full comp oil.

Beware the plugs can be tight and will need box key adapter or 1/2 drive bar will also fit

Same oil for box and rear diff, gearbox holds approx 4 litres and rear diff 0.8 litres so one 5 litre can does the job.

And there is two drain plugs on the gear box!

Wise advice. Imagine draining and then finding you can't undo the filler plug! Bit late then to take it to a garage. Another vote for Millers CRX 75 90nt.

really easy job, make sure the car is level. best to undo the top first to double check you can fill it before you drain it out then can't open the top. also allows the fluid to flow better, make sure the area is clean so dirt/grit dont get blow up by the wind, know its a small chance to get into the hole but only takes a min to reduce the risks.

Read Some reviews before I tried it and no one had a bad word, maybe if it was a track car or driven hard a better oil may be needed but I would buy it again.
