Default Help needed, malta reg car ?

Hi guys, just need someone to help me out, looking through the service book of my 54 plate sti it was bought in malta but registerd on a uk plate ? Anyone know why this would be !!!! And also is it the same as a uk spec sti ? Lastly at 70 moh the revs are at 2750rpm my old wrk 5 spd was reving less, does the rpm in 6th seem right ? Sat nav confirmed it was 70mph aswell. I know jap specs have lower 5/6 gears. Not sure what they rev at, at 70 in 6th any help would be great

Malta sold EDM cars...............rather like my Bug came from the Netherlands. Several grand cheaper than buying in the UK.

You should have the COC and the original stamp will be from Malta.

Is it pale metallic blue by any chance?

Not really that important, It's needed to bring it into the country and that's it. Says that it's OK to use in all EU Countries.

Enjoy it.

Might want to check with the Insurance about what Alarm they want, Mine had to have an alarm fitted.

Its got a fancy one fitted, like what my old wrx had. Same key fob, and a tracker aswell only cost £50 more to insure than my old wrx

I think there was a deal with a big motor company that shipped loads over to sell them to UK customers from Malta. They are full UK spec barring the Alarm as mentioned.

I have a WRX from Malta but is a UK car in the WR1 blue.

Most likely a Motorpoint car, my old man bought his silver blob WRX 'new' from Motorpoint but it was pre-reg'd in Malta.

2700 rpm @70 mph sounds right. Cars a parallel import. Nothing wrong with that but don't expect any assistance from IM should anything go wrong.

I had mine registered with IM for a Cross Border Warranty.........wouldn't have held my breath if anything went wrong, especially as I stuck an andy F Turbo on it after a few months
