What's that sound?!
It's probably nothing, it could even be normal.. but having only just got the Scoob I'm PARANOID about everything I hear. It's not too loud of a sound, but it's only when cold (I'll have to verify that though)
Here's a sound clip https://soundcloud.com/james-lambert...oby-sound-idle
It almost sounds like a diesel?! Only at very low revs as in, 1 - 1.5k, anything above that and it sounds fine.
Car is completely standard (Even the exhaust) 03 Reg Blob and runs very well, it's just that sound.
Any advice would be great! Hope it's nowt serious.

Sounds like this video
After a quick search on here, it seems perfectly normal

I've just bought it and haven't had a chance to change the oil yet, I'm not sure what was used before. I'm in the Milton Keynes area.
Thanks for the reassurance fellas still a tad concerned but feeling better.

IF it is piston slap I wouldn't worry too much mate. My 03 blob sounds noisy on start up, and most will! Some rebuilt engines sound even worse!!! Since you have only had it a short while I would seriously recommend you do an oil change as soon as possible just for peace of mind. And make sure it's a good oil, don't scrimp on the necessities! Opie oils are a good shout and a search on here will reveal and host of decent ones to use. You don't know how long that oil has been in your car for certain.
