Default Help.... Prodrive middle sports cat for 05 wrx

Hi,

I've got a early 05 wrx, I've just put a prodrive back box on it(sounds great) but I just want the prodrive sports cat to go with it. 2 questions really........

I've just seen a prodrive version for a sti 05 on eBay, will this fit my prodrive back box? Or does anyone know of where I can buy one from either new or secondhand?

Any help would be great,

Thanks
Al

sports cat is in prodrive downpipe, you need midpipe withouth cat if you have already cat on it and you are after louder exhaust.
if you fit prodrive sportscat you will need remap, but before you have to do few more mods.

You can get a resonated or deresonated centre pipe, a deresonated one will make the exhaust sound a lot louder.

I used to have the Prodrive sports cat on my WRX, will pass emissions come MOT time no probs. You can run it without a remap but it wont give you any significant power gains and will give you a cat below efficiency CEL after a while, mine did anyway.

Thanks for the replies, I'm after more power rather than the noise, with the prodrive back box it's got that noticeable Scooby sound. I would like more power but i want to keep the cost low but without comprising on quality.

Get yourself a straight through centre that will sort you out for around 70 quid.

If you're still on the standard turbo (and intend to stay on it), I don't think the sports cat and hassle that comes from fitting etc will make enough difference to justify the outlay.

Without a sports cat (i.e. standard downpipe cat) and decat centre section (this is the bit immediately after the downpipe), you'll probably make around 270 hp after a remap. With the sports cat or a decat, you might make 280.

If you're paying for fitting on the sports cat, that's a lot of money for relatively little gain IMO.

I fitted a centre decat, Haywood and Scott centre section and a prodrive backbox to my old wrx, added to this an uprated intercooler hose and panel filter, followed this up with a flash to the prodrive map and I was happy with it, in fact without fitting a bigger turbo I didn't think it was worth modding any more, very good conversion for very little outlay. Even if you add a custom remap with careful buying you can do it for less than £500 all in.

Great ideas, like the look of prodrive pipe along with the other little modifications I could get the most out of the car. I'll get the bits and get all the labour done in one go, thanks again for all the advice. Especially for a Scooby novice!

The wrx ppp kit only has item 1 replaced with a straight through pipe, it even has the cat heat shields on so it looks standard.
