As long as you go for a good make of dv like HKS you will be ok. Recirc are the best type to go for but a lot of members also like the VTA type.

From what i have read and taught myself, stick with what you have, i.e the OEM part.

Take advice from the some of the great people on here. There are some really knowledgeable people on here and you will soon be able to tell the differences between opinion (Buy a Supersonic, twin horn off ebay), experience (Stick with OEM) and technical knowledge (The reason why you want an OEM is because......).

If you want that big whoosh sound, buy a Renault 5

Some of us believe that VTA DVs are not the best thing for the smooth running of an EJ20 if just bolted on in place of the standard recirc.

However it is clear the way the Subaru scene is going (i.e. advice newbies don't want to hear is not welcome) so I am changing my stance to if you want one get it bolted on and happy motoring

Its more so the fact that folk don't listen to the advice they're given regarding VTA dump valves

I Agree 100% with your stance rough running can come from the initial set up after fitting one and other supporting mods,my car was properly mapped after I fitted one in conjunction with a front mount intercooler i just found it brought the spool of my turbo back faster after a gear change that's my opinion anyway and I think that most people that buy a car should realise that they bought it for themselves and do not need other people's approval to modify it.safe modification and what's in or not in fashion in the Subaru community is another story.
