That might have something to do with the fact they were not the most popular incarnation of the impreza, and only made for 1 week, the response to them was worse than that of the hatch.

My be up your budget a bit and go for an early blob, much more of them about.

Im not able get older imprezza due to insurance, 3k for classic impreza but only 1.200 for bugeye Sti, I'm after a bugeye Sti, just come from 280bhp astra coupe turbo but want go 350 bhp mark, I love styling of Sti bug with morrattes. My budget is 4k, can go 4.5 if right car comes

There was a bug Sti for sale in a garage round the corner from me, in the usual blue colour and looked pretty clean, I'll have a look if its still there, it was around the 5k but sure there would be some room for bartering

There is a few on pistonheads, might need to travel though! I would look at nodded wrx's probably cheaper to insure, and plenty about half of them are sti spec or better anyway!

Although surely a modded wrx would be more than a standard Sti to insure

This one might come down in price (I don't know the car, the garage / seller or it's history so you'd have to go see for yourself if its any good), it might be worth a punt (since its a buyers market) and I know its been up for months as I kept seeing it when I was looking:

EDIT to add: You will struggle to find an STI at that kind of money, unless you go for a (possibly abused) classic. I would look at Modded WRX's.

Had my Bug from new, yes if looks meant everything then not the best but the running gear is still the same looks are cosmetic and you can upgrade the front end by changing the wings, bonnet, slam panel, bumper, headlight and any bits I forgot. Mine is currently running with coil overs, full power flex bushing, various APS bits, K-sport brakes and other bits at 440 bhp and 106K miles on the ORIGINAL engine. I repair and service it myself and done the modifications myself apart from the mapping of the GEMS ECU.

I LOVE my BUGEYE!!!!!!

I mentioned this on another thread of yours but double check those quotes. If they are off a comparison site, don't take them as 100% gospel. Ring the specialist insurers on here for example. The big price difference doesn't add up which makes me curious....

Keep saving for the right car.

Be patient and a car will come up for sale in the price range people tend not to advertise this time of year as its deemed pointless.......

Shame you wasn't looking 12 months ago otherwise you could have bought this off me- https://www.scoobynet.com/subaru-444...preza-sti.html
