Hi all

First thing, I am sorry if I have posted this in the worng section....please tell me off if I have.

I am looking for some advice, I am totally new to Subaru and is in the position to purchase.

I have always had company cars...boring company ones:P, I have always wanted a Subaru and now the time has come.

My question is, What year and model should I look for 4-5k?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Do you intend to mod it? If so, start with an STI as its a better base to start from.

Thanks, I do like the look of that.

You guys probably get asked this a lot, what are the running costs? (for a standard one).

Driving without letting the boost come in should be about 35 mpg. and ive always found driving a standard or heavily modded to be the same mpg when driving as economically as possible. But when giving it the gun its a different story .

I was gonna say the same. I would look for couple owners as normally would been looked after better. Although i have had cars with more then 5. And been ok.
I think if the owners have kept there cars longer they more then likely had things changed that needed changing instead of selling on for next person to sort. if you get what i mean.
Look for things like cambelt change . Last service. Tax and tyres as that is alot if need doing
