Default Engine bay clean day

Only had the new toy a couple of weeks and nearly cleared all the items on my to do list.
Today was engine bay clean it was slightly dirty which was good when I bought the car as it showed that it was not cleaned for the sale.
So here is the before:

Its amazing the difference it makes ! Get an engine bay bolt kit to tidy those rusty bits up and youre done !

You missed a bit. Lol. Jk. Looks miles better. Try cleaning the recirc valve. Looks great when done

The valve would not clean up any more,probably replace it
Does make. Difference the under side and wheel arches tomorrow

Used this below and sprayed on with a low pressure sprayer with the engine warm not hot left for 10 mins then washed off with cold pressure washer, then a light dusting with WD 40 which replaces the metal oils removed by the clean, must wipe off the excess, used this method on quite a few and always good result.

Looks very nice indeed.

Does the new green Gunk smell like the old Gunk? That used to hang around for ages.

I use Autoglym Engine and Machine Cleaner followed by their Vinyl & Rubber Care these days which is good stuff.

Of course, taking it too seriously leads down the slippery slope to here:

Which in turn means, like me, you hardly ever drive the car in case it gets dirty....

This has actually got a good smell, it is similar but not as bad,once it is cleaned off there is no smell
Used the same method on my GTI6 which came up a treat, safe on plastic and rubber paint etc and is biodegradable

oh and with the recirculation valve mine was almost as bad as that, so when i had my intercooler off i removed the valve and got my dremel polishing wheel onit with some megs metal polish
Took about 1 hours to get good!

quick question but is it just me or does your brake fluid look to be over filled? may be a bad angle
