found wire cut in engine!!

Default found wire cut in engine!!

hi!! ive owned my 2005 wrx (sti replica) for two months and ive found a cut wire just above my induction kit in the engine bay!!! i cant find the other end of the wire!!

could it be to the ecu wire??

oh yeah the bit of the wire i can see has been sealed

Has someone fitted an aftermarket exhaust down pipe? Could be an old secondary down pipe sensor that has been removed.
A picture would be helpful.

it has got a de cat down pipe fitted!! going to get a picture now!!

Hard to see but i expect it was the old sensor to tell you if the standard cat was on fire (COF). If it is, it's nothing to worry about as it's not needed anyway.

That feeds the flux capacita turbine wheel flap.....
With it disconnected your running the risk of time travel when you exceed 70mph !!!


Seriously though, is the car running ok ?
Is the check engine light on ?

very funny lol!!.. the check engine light isnt on n the car is running fine, she is abit jumpy in low gears!! n when i first start up the revs are quite high when idle normally imbetween 1.5 n 2000 rpm n when shes warmed up it goes down to about 0.5.. ive been told this could be the coolant temperature sensor??

EGT sensor wire, looks like its had a decat up-pipe fitted

^^^^^^, left hand picture clearly shows the resistor fix in place.
