Default Power window loses auto function

Hi fellas, so my driver's side power window switch has lost its 'one-touch' auto function. I can't push the switch down all the way, the window will not go down, but it works perfectly when i push (not all the way down) and hold the switch to lower the windows.

Does this sound like the switch is gone? Unfortunately, the driver's side comes as a complete set of switch for all 4 windows, so that means the switch is expensive.

Does it sound like the switch is gone?

^^ What he said.
If it was my car I'd be looking at the switch first

Not sure if it's the same with Subaru but with Nissan there was a 'reset' process where you open window holding the button down for 5 secs and then close it holding the button up for 5 secs.

Worth a try...

Interesting....

I'll see what happens. But it did slowly lose it's function, so sounds more like it was becoming faulty?

Still, i'll try the 5 sec trick to see how it goes.

Don't think i mentioned, but the auto function works fine raising the window. Only doesn't work lowering it.

Anyway...

OK, so i've just gone out to try the 5 sec trick. Heres what happened.

Ignition to on
Held switch down all the way for more than 5 secs (windows doesn't budge)
Lifted switch up all the way for more than 5 secs
Tried it. Everything is the same. Still no auto down function.

Tried the above twice, no difference. So thought it won't work.....

Not sure why, but the windows lock button caught my attention, so decided to meddle with it a bit. Pushed it down...windows locked (only the driver's window remain operable). And to my surprise, the driver's window now works fine. Auto up and down.

Then i pushed the lock button again to unlock the windows, it went back to the same problem.

Then i tried the 5 sec trick with the windows locked this time.....

And it somehow fixed the problem..... :

It's working fine now. We shall see how it goes tomorrow.
