402 miles on a full tank
Since i have been on this site ,I have seen quite a few threads about what mileage can you get from an Impreza & the average would appear to be 250 - 300.. Well after getting a call from a lad in the week about some of the parts i was selling,he agreed that he would collect them this morning. He text me at 4.45 this morning telling me he would be there after 10.00 .
Well at 10.30 he arrived at my house to collect a bumper, bonnet & tailgate,he had come from scotland . He had travelled 402 miles from his house to my front door on 1 full tank of fuel.
I have managed 290 miles on a full tank driving off boost for a week ,but it was hard.
Anyone heard of any other similar figure or managed more.

Would have thought that on a uk classic turbo with a longer 5th gear you could get well over 350,
I managed 348 on a modified Sti wagon (fully laden with luggage and computer equipment) Brighton to the west coast of Wales + a few extra diverts (135 miles of which was A-roads)
Recently managed 182 miles on A roads and dual carriageways (Brighton to Dartmoor) 3 people + luggage in a 385bhp Sti blob = Exactly £45 of V-power :| driving normally not really trying to be economical
Im impressed with over 400

I achieved 34mpg on a steady trip to Lancashire and back last year. Car was running a catback exhaust and had me, the Mrs and our son in with 4 wheels/tyres on the way home. Was about 220 miles I think and was just scraping 1/2 tank on our arrival back home. It was brimmed before/after to get accurate figures and I nearly fell out my chair when I worked it out.

A standard UK car (classics here) and ive done this when the fuel strike was on, will do 34-36mpg if you take your time.
So we are talking 60ltr tank (13.1 gallons) over 411 miles, which is just over 31mpg, quite possible at 50ish mph and no booting it (though that does defeat the object ) and how much fuel did he have left? thats the big question

Elvington and back yesterday was 281miles. That took about 53ltrs and came out at 24 mpg.
This is on a JDM Hawkeye (so shorter gearing for mway) and was , shall we say, fairly brisk for the majority of it's journey on the mway.
