Trying to decide
Right at the moment I currently drive a 2006 blobeye STI. As it stands the car is more or less stand apart from an afterburner exhaust and K+N air filter. The car is in fantastic condition having only covered 29000 miles.
My problem is, that lately I have been really considering swapping it for a P1 as I have always liked the 2 door look for many years. I don't use the car everyday, but at the same time I don't have a garage to put the car. With the P1 being a limited edition I'm not sure about parking it on the street.
Opinions and advice please guys.
Am I mad to want a classic over a newage.

yes. P1 is raw and unrefined compared to the Blobeye. Classic will also cost a lot more to tune if and when you want more power. new shape cars are a much better base to start from as they have all the right bits in already i.e. 6 speed gearbox, brembo brakes, better suspension, larger intercooler

That's a good car you have there.
A few carefully chosen upgrades will make it great and a much nicer drive than the older cars IMHO.
Best bet, test drive a classic, i reckon you will get over this hankering pretty quick.
I've done that a couple of times, makes you realise what you have got!

It's a hard one, the newage cars are better base cars for tuning and do feel more stable / planted on the road but there is something about the feel of a classic impreza. It depends on what you are willing spend on the p1 as you could pick up a tastefully modded one for 8-10k with a 6 speed, forged engine and supporting mods.
Or throw a few grand at yours and it may out the smile back on yours.
