ive got a version 6 sti import 1999, the gearbox casing has failing where the pin for clutch fork is and so clutch isnt useable... question is. how much is it worth while needing a gearbox, as im contimplation to sell as it is or break if not as i dont think i can put ne more money in to it ! its got couple bits ie vf22 turbo, fmic de cat, japspeed cat back, walbro, ecutek mapped ecu. running 310 bhp ( dyno sheet to prove ( recent) ......

I think you should pay to sell, if that's what you want to do.

Speak to one of the breakers on here as those gearboxes are cheap you could put a newage 5 speed in it which is even stronger than your original, they go for anything from £200 to £500 so not really a major reason to let it go for peanuts if it owes you a few grand.

Typical keyboard worrier attitude. i'm asking for genuine advice pal. I'm a fully paid up member and not looking to sell etc just looking at my options.

Thanks for your advice!

Not that difficult to do a gearbox swap over a weekend, all you need is a jack, axel stands and a socket set, piece of pee really, £200 box and a £100 on tools + 6hrs of your life as opposed to taking a major hit on what you have already spent, loads of guides how to do it and i'm sure some of the essex scooby crew wouls help for a brew and a few beers.

Save up and put a box in it buddy, really wouldn't fetch much as it is. You would regret it if you let it go for peanuts, trust me.
