Hi all, Thought id say hi and show you all my classic impreza. Picked it up sunday and so far im loving it! Don't think ive even turned the radio on since driving it as the sound of it is putting a massive smile on my face Its completly standard apart from a back box, not quite sure on the make but it sounds nice!
Been looking on the forum now for a couple of weeks learning the ins and outs of them and they seem a good reliable car to own as long as they're well looked after. Only plans ive got for it atm are carrying a full service, including cambelt, changing the fuel pump for a walbro 255 and fitting crystal side repeaters and side lights i got of ebay the other day. Im sure in a couple of weeks ill be looking a full decat pipes and re-maps but for now im happy how it is.
Got a couple of questions tho;
1. What oil and oil filter would be recommend?
2. Can the standard ECU thats fitted be re-mapped?
and whats the standard BHP of my Wagon?

Any way heres some pics.

Welcome

Oil - as per the handbook, don't ask on here as you'll get so many opinions you'll be even more confused. Just go for a good make and the spec as per your handbook.
ECU - I believe it can be remapped on your age of car, speak to the tuners on here.

Oh, and get that rust sorted - it looks more than just surface rust, need a bit of welding there fella.

Cheers mate, I did look through a Thread by 'The Oil Man' and yeah it just confused me even more!
I was thinking that I've got a mate who does all my body work so he'll get that sorted for me. Sorry for all the questions but do you req any locking tools to do the cambelt?

Hi, welcome to another wagoner!

Oil as per handbook as your handbook, people have different preferences. My car's been on 10w-60 since import 4 years and I've not wanted to change. Subaru OEM filters are very good.

Depends what ECU it is. You can lift up your passenger side footwell carpet and take a gander.

Standard BHP of a WRX wagon is about 220 iirc.
