Men are officially better drivers than women, according to a survey released this week. Insurance experts Peoples Choice have concluded an exhaustive study of the size and nature of accident claims from both sexes.
The survey size was over 10,000 which should give a good indication of the UK motoring public. But before male drivers start to celebrate, bear in mind that male 'yoofs' are far more accident prone than their female counterparts. Males aged 17-29 are more likely to have an accident than females of a similar age - and the same is true of males over 60.
Peoples Choice Managing Director Philip da Silva said: "The research bears out that overall women have more claims than men and their average claims are slightly higher. However, the combination of age and gender are the determining factors in a drivers' likelihood of being involved in an accident, rather than just age or gender alone."
