Default air intake on blob eye

picked car up yesterday and noticed the front scoop on the air intake has nothing connected to it what should b there its now few inches from hole in wing

If im right.

That is the intake silencer.

By removing that you can hear the turbo and wastegate better (apparently).

I have considered doing this

does it sit in wing and connect the intake to the panel filter box next to it?

will it cause any issues not being there? or can i plumb in say a cold air feed from intake to panel box?

You could but it is designed that way to avoid any water/moisture getting into the induction system/maf etc...

If its the silencer, I cut mine off ages ago along with a part of the rubber strip that runs along the front edge of the bonnet near to the intake to help try and flow a little bit more air in. To be honest didnt notice any difference but I didnt notice any ill effects, every little helps I suppose
