Default The 320hp Fiat Coupe has gone, good riddens! Onto my lovely classic wrx :-)

Just this minute sold my fiat coupe of four years and so glad it's gone!

Don't get me wrong I loved it but also hated it!

Was easily one of the quicker cars I've had with 320hp but my god they are an absolute money-pit!

Now have my low mileage virtually STD classic wrx on the road and I'm finally happy......for now!

Watched it drive off and didn't feel sad which shows it was time to get rid!

Sorry for the rant!

Dave

Those little fiats were quick as hell in standard trim, bet at 320 ponies it was a handful.

Certainly was! Ran 13.1s 1/4 miles which for fwd was v v good, but it was the 60-100 time where it shone managing around 6.3s!

They can be tuned up much more than people realise, 420hp on STD internals is the record and there's a forged 2.4 that kicked out 616hp!

Nice cars but worth nothing at all even after you spend £££ on them!

Happy with my STD impreza :-)

I'm fairly sure I can say that the impreza will be a better built car

I dunno those 5cyl 20v turbo make a lovely noise!

Mines on an equal length manifold at the mo so sounds pants, once I port a STD manifold and get it on Im certain I'll agree with you though.

Always wanted a coupe, after having Punto turbo's. In fact, been considering it lately, as I'm certain they have got to be cheaper on insurance.
So yours was a 20v, what did you have to do to get to 320bhp? There aren't any mapping otpions out for them now are there?

Joey things have moved on now

They can be live mapped by F C Performance, a completely std one just remapped manages 280ish the remap is only £175 for stage one! Bear in mind the std 220hp car manges to hit 60 in 6.2 and a true top speed of 155mph

Mine went onto a gps verified 164mph on a straight at a private race track....somewhere

Mine had a GT28RS turbo, 3inch downpipe, uprated fuelling, evo 9 intercooler etc etc and recorded a 0-60 of 4.9 at York Raceway.

They are a performace car bargain, but like most Italian cars need lots of love!

Interesting. Got me thinking, as they are pretty cheap now.
Why did you go for the 20v? I always thought with the extra weight of the engine, there performance figures over a 16v weren't that much. Or are the 20v's more tune-able?

Reason I went for 20v is the STD internalsin them can take more abuse upto 420hp on a STD bottom end but the 16vt bend rods after 350hp.

The 20vt also has brembo's as std and a viscodrive LSD.

They are a bargain but NEED almost as much care and constant maintenance as an Integrale!

My mate had a coupe, and one sunny summers day at a slow roundabout the drivers front wheel over took him for no reason other than it sheered off WTF!

Some of you have seen it, the car made the local news as the car had just passed its MOT!

Still got it! It's a much much much more reliable car, I'm still a little diss appointed with the performance they seem to lack torque at the bottom end.

Currently doing bits and pieces to mine to get it to around 340 ish should feel better then!

I'd sugest not to push it that far. Even STI spec at this age would be 50/50 on reliabilty with 340 bhp. Get it to 300/300 and spend your moneys on suspension tweeks. That's what makes your car better. BHP is for straight line speed, you wont be faster on the corners with your big powered motor than my midd powered, sorted suspension one.
