Default Buying a Scooby to rob for bits - worth the effort?

I've seen a same year/model/colour Impreza for sale, which is really clean inside and out and not silly money.

It's actually a GL, but someone's dressed it up with WRX parts all of which look unmarked. Interior is good too and although not WRX, I need some basic bits which look the same.

Mine has pre existing dents in bonnet and tail gate with scuffed front and back bumpers.

So cunning plan Baldrick. Buy GL looky likey - take off all the bits I need - swap them onto mine and stand back to admire handy work.

The question is; do I refit my bits to the donor vehicle or just sling everything in the back and look for a cheap bid and take away?

If anyone has done the same I'd welcome your thoughts.

Paul

Do it and sell the GL on, you'll spend a lot less than buying the parts separately and if you get wise you could even turn a profit

Looks like it's a yes vote, so I'll probably have a go at it. They want 900 quid for it which against guide price looks good, but in this climate could I bid less or is that too cheeky?

The GL engine if any good may appeal to camper van owners
